Win a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs prize package

    Mon Jan 4

Did you see the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs last fall? If you have kids, you probably did. Admittedly, Sony Pictures cinematic adaptation of Judi and Ron Barrett's beloved children's book did stray from the source materials. But kids loved the new characters, especially Steve the monkey, and parents definitely dug Bill Hader as an adorkable inventor. To mark the film's release on DVD this week, Time Out Kids is giving away a tasty prize package, which includes the flick, a "ratbird" plush toy, a copy of the book The Art and Making of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and the eponymous game for the Wii . Shrek the Musical closes today

    Sun Jan 3

For many, the first days of January are all about new beginnings. But for the cast and crew of Shrek the Musical , everything's about to come to an end. Today marks the final performance of the family-friendly show before it kicks off its national tour. We just wanted to take a moment to say goodbye to the hilarious tuner, and thank the entire Shrek family for entertaining kids (and adults!) for the last year or so. You will be missed! As a side note, the new revival of Ragtime , which originally posted a January 3 closing notice, has been extended by one week. It's still a sad premature ending to a lovely production that was named one of the ten best shows of 2009 by Time magazine.
