City parks, playgrounds and zoos to close on Wednesday, November 7

Bronx Zoo

Bronx Zoo

While NYC has slowly gotten back on its feet in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, tomorrow's anticipated Nor'easter has necessitated additional precautionary measures be taken. All city parks, beaches and playgrounds, as well as the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo will be closed from Wednesday, November 7 at noon until Thursday, November 8 at noon. Because many neighborhoods are still recovering from the hurricane, Mayor Bloomberg hopes to continue efforts in those areas while preventing any further devastation. Be sure to check venue websites ahead of time if you plan on going out, and stay safe.
