Design your own robot!
Wed Jan 16 2008
We love events that kill two birds with one stone--especially when one of those events is shopping. This Friday, the ultra-hip Tribeca children's boutique Babesta is giving you the opportunity to shop while they entertain your kids. While you're checking out the store's wide array of political tees for tots and modern kids' furniture, your little one can design his own Kid Robot Munny from 6:30-8pm.
The vinyl "dolls" are designed to be colored, painted, posed and played with. The event, best for ages 4-8, is part of a series from Art Ratz, an organization that offers monthly classes devoted to texture and creativity for kids. In this class, kids will work with New York graffiti artist Sir Hayes.
At $35, the class isn't cheap, but the robot, supplies and snacks are included. Besides, with cab fare and all, it's not like you'd pay a babysitter a whole lot less for an hour-plus of (relatively) uninterrupted shop-till-you-drop bliss.
