Some Chinese Parents Would Prefer to Put Dancing Babies in the Corner

null Dance classes in schools might seem like a fun an efficient way to fight child obesity through exercise—but in China, where in-school dance lessons were made a compulsory part of the curriculum, parents are protesting. Physical exercise is positive, they say, but excessive contact with the opposite sex should be prevented. One parent recommended cock-fighting and sandbag-tossing as alternatives, while others would favor swimming and martial arts.
