Time Out says

The term anthropologist has been a term frequently appended to this Los Angeles native based in Paris, and certainly his art has been distinguished by an almost empirical interest in the subcultural and the strange: Suburban backyard wrestling clubs involving face-painted teenagers who perform Jackass-caliber stunts; Halloween spook houses in Michigan. Jamie works in several mediums including photography and video, but more recently, he’s distilled such grotesqueries at the heart of American life through drawing, painting and ceramic objects that literally take on hideous, if colorful, form. Among the featured works: A series of masks mounted face-first to the wall in a way that would confine a potential wearer to a close-up view of emptiness.
