Levine's style of minimalist painting has been typically characterized by an intimate scale and an intense focus on building compositionally uniform surfaces, using dense accumulations of abbreviated marks or gestures. This show features recent white monochromes, some of them actually quite large. Yet the shift in size doesn't in any way alter the sense of infinite, immeasurable space created by the artist's approach.
