"My daughter had just gotten back from Montreal. She had friends visiting, and they are all in bands and things like that. I decided to take pictures of our dinner party. It was kind of a perfect night at home, with people I like. And I didn't tell anyone what I was doing, because I didn't want them to know I was doing it for a project. They're used to me taking pictures of stuff, so they're pretty candid. My daughter said, 'Okay, enough.' Her friends, especially one, was kind of a ham."
