Jane and Louise Wilson

The British artist-sister duo presents sculptures and photos created over the past couple of years, all dealing in varying respects with the subjects of time and place, or, perhaps more specifically, the ways in which we measure the past. Memories of the Cold War serve as backdrops for the works, especially in a series of photos taken at Pripyat, the Ukrainian town abandoned in 1986 after the meltdown at the nearby Chernobyl nuclear reactor complex. Each scene features a yardstick, put in place by the artists before they captured the image.
