Jenny Perlin, "One Hundred Sinkholes"

Sinkholes are an alarming phenomenon, and in Perlin's latest outing, they become a metaphor for "unexpected gaps, cognitive failures and chance detours." A series of childlike renderings of circular shapes is in fact sourced from online photos of sinkholes from around the globe, as is an animated film made up of images drawn in graphite.
