John Stezaker, "Nude and Landscape"

Britain's one-person "Pictures" Generation, John Stezaker is a former Conceptualist who, in the late 1970s, began to play with found pop-culture imagery in a manner that was similar to Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince et al., though Stezaker's approach was far more low-key—which explains why his work became familiar to New York audiences only recently. This exhibit is his third with the gallery, featuring images of anatomical nudes as well as antique postcards.
