Kianja Strobert, "Of This Day in Time"

Strobert's thickly brushed canvases have the look of classic midcentury abstraction. In fact, they employ some of that era's painting formulas, such as push-pull composition, a technique for using optically advancing and receding colors to create the illusion of pictorial depth.
