Robert Lazzarini, "(damage)"

Lazzarini is known for creating three-dimensional versions of objects and images that appear to have been optically distorted—such as a human skull that looks like it was stretched into an anamorphic projection. The suite of items here, all similarly warped—a safe, a window, a liquor sign, a motel door, a chain-link fence topped by concertina wire, a padlock and chain—are meant to be read as elements of a psychological landscape describing America's current collective state of mind.
