Simen Johan, "Until the Kingdom Comes"

This Scandinavian photographer, who lives in New York, creates scenes of the natural world that appear seamless, but are anything but: They are digitally constructed from elements shot by the artist around the world, both at zoos and outdoors in nature. Thus flora and fauna, foreground and background are mixed and matched from details found in disparate locations, creating an uncanny result that seems real and yet not.
