Time Out says

Born in Alsace, France, Ungerer found his way to midcentury New York, where he became an award-winning children's book illustrator whose emblematic linear style still influences graphic designers today. By the mid-1960s, he was also creating politically pointed drawings and posters commenting on racism, the Vietnam War and other hot-button issues of the period. This retrospective delves into both aspects of his career and more.
