Video
1 Queensbridge Park, Queens
Something (maybe the 59th Street Bridge?) is killing the grass—and the mood—here.
2 Riverside Park South, from 59th St to 72nd St
Tall, ugly grass, plus a Trump condo in the background.
3 East River Park at Houston St
Gentrification hasn’t reached the river yet.
4 Newtown Creek, Greenpoint, Brooklyn
It’s got the lowest possible cleanliness rating—and it reeks.
5 South Street Seaport Mall
Just what we need—the glaringly ugly As Seen on TV store!

Thank goodness gentrification hasn't reached the river yet- otherwise the East River Park will become just as bland, homogenized, and boring as the rest of the East Village. It's the one place left where you can see a truly wide range of people hanging out in the same place. And who is picking the ugly glass, souless condos as being "sights" by the way?

what's wrong with you? the boardwalk and grasses are great...they are a lovely improvement...the grasses move gracefully in the wind and are a very interesting horticultural element...a nice alternative/complement to lawn.
