Have you ever been sexually harassed in the office?
It’s only sexual harassment if your boss is ugly. [Laughs]
What do you and your single girlfriends do for fun?
All my girlfriends are married. I enjoy their husbands. I enjoy interacting with couples.
How many dates until sex?
As many as possible. But I’ll meet somebody one night and have sex if I want to. I’m not 12 years old, I’m an adult.
How’s dating going?
It’s all right, but I just broke up with my boyfriend.
How long were you guys together?
We were together for a couple of years, but realized that we wouldn’t get married, so we decided to part ways. And in New York it’s hard to stay with one person, because there are so many opportunities to meet the person who may perfectly match you, people you might connect with on a deeper level. At the same time, the city is lonely. I have so many neighbors and don’t even know their names.
How is the dating scene different if you’re gay?
In terms of when you’re actually with someone, there’s a little more of an understanding or an equality. In terms of the pool, I think it makes it a lot harder. I came out in November of 2004. I was a sophomore in college. I just sort of met the woman in my life, and that’s how I realized who I was. But there are times when I’ve really been turned off of dating. And because I’m so involved in other activities—you have your whole life to settle down.
