Christopher Carter Sanderson directs the Gorilla Rep in a mobile production of Shakespeare’s heartiest history play, in which a frisky young king goes to war over some unwanted tennis balls.

    A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A number of tickets are also distributed at various locations throughout the five boroughs on specific days (call for info). Through Sept 9.
Four crazy kids and a bossy Bottom get mixed up in a world of drugs and fairy sex in Shakespeare’s beloved family classic. Dan Sullivan (Doubt) directs a fine cast that includes Jay O. Sanders, Laila Robbins, Keith David, Martha Plimpton, Mireille Enos, Austin Lysy and Elliot Villar. See “Into the woods,” page 145.

Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot crews for the Bard as Kathy Curtiss updates his tart-tongued romance to Fleet Week, because nothing says “lasting love” like a bunch of sailors on leave.

Do those crazy kids never learn? Considering the rash of Romeos this summer, surely the star-crossed lovers would have figured out their odds by now. Alfred Preisser directs the Classical Theatre of Harlem production, which plays in a different park each weekend; check out the CTH website for details.
