Vegetarians and carnivores break bread at this “flexitarian” eatery from veggie vet Peter Berley (Angelica Kitchen) and architect Ron Castellano, who also revived the neighboring Forward Building. Though they’re still sorting out the name of this rockabilly restaurant-bar (the two above are the final contenders), the brothers Shamlian (Spitzer’s Corner) have their priorities straight—the mechanical bull is already installed. Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce
Lovers of besequined pasties will descend on Nolita this fall, when the L.A.-born burlesque spot opens shop—thanks in part to the backing of part owners and rock icons Sting and David Bowie. Cushy banquettes and an early-20th-century moniker indicate the—what else?—speakeasy vibe at this West Village brasserie from chef Keith Harry (Chanterelle) and the team behind Employees Only.
