    Time Out New York / Issue 655 : Apr 16–22, 2008
    Eat Out Awards 2008

    Critics’ choice

    Second annual blatant-sucking-up-so-we-can-score-a-table award
    Momofuku Ko
The latest addition to the Momofuku empire, this tasting-menu-only counter has incited hysteria to rival the Rubik’s Cube. Reservations are taken online only, where hopefuls log on at 10am to score one of 12 seats—all booked within seconds. And with good reason: Chef David Chang’s gut-busting grub—notably the lychees topped with a flurry of grated frozen foie gras, and the oysters with pork belly submerged in kimchi consommé—is his most extravagant work to date. Once you finally gain access to the slim sanctuary, you’ll be relieved to see that the focus is on the food (serious where Ssäm Bar was playful, lavish where Noodle Bar was casual), not the scene. Chang leaves that to the bloggers.

I'm so happy Omido was recognized. They are one of the best restaurants in New York...not just Time Square.
