    Time Out New York / Issue 658 : May 7–13, 2008
    Art review

What turns us on: Grayson Perry

    Photograph: David Rosenzwig

Cross-dressing ceramicist Grayson Perry, who recently gave a sidesplitting and incredibly thoughtful lecture at the American Folk Art Museum, is one of the sexiest men I’ve ever met. This Turner Prize winner, who delivers his public presentations in drag, embodies his fantasies both in his sartorial choices and in his intricate work. Anyone that unabashedly comfortable with his own deepest desires—while still being funny, engaging and social—is a total turn-on. Plus, he wears his art. What could be better? I blushed furiously as I approached him after the talk and donated my iced-out heart ring to his loony, Darger-inspired Vivian Girls outfit.
