The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters 1 and 2 at MoMA
WHY ESSENTIAL:
With nearly 22,000 titles, MoMA boasts one of the largest film collections in the world. Its state-of-the-art theaters aren’t too shabby either—between the two of ’em, some 600 filmgoers can enjoy both classics (like those in the current “Spain [Un]Censored” series, featuring flicks made under General Francisco Franco’s 36-year dictatorship) and groundbreaking goodies (the ongoing experimental showcase “Modern Mondays”).
The secret:
Many filmic greats (including Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and Mel Brooks) spent their formative years frequenting the Titus 1. Greta Garbo preferred to watch her films alone in the greenroom adjacent to the projection booth; director Otto Preminger, meanwhile, staked out a favorite seat on the side balcony and spent half of the screenings talking back at the screen—much to the annoyance of other patrons. 11 W 53rd Stmoma.org)

Josh, it is true. X is not on the menu.
I am really upset that Time Out printed my secret website for everybody to see. gugunnameable is so secret, you can't even view it on a regular computer -- the secret password is
www.unnameablebooks.net

The concept of this piece, as described, is excellent; the execution is terrible and misleading (per the description, anyway–it would have been a fine article properly described). A tip would be, for example: "order X at Pearl Oyster Bar, it's not on the menu, it's excellent, and you have to request it." Or a reservation password or somesuch.

How is this an "ultra-valuable tip?" It's not even a "tip," it's a piece of trivia.
