3LD Art & Technology Center
WHY ESSENTIAL:
Earlier this spring, the downtown veteran group 3-Legged Dog inaugurated its new mothership: a sinuous, space-agey two-stage complex off the beaten path in the Financial District. Equipped with top-shelf video, light and sound technology, the space has quickly become the hot venue for multimedia auteurs who want to push their theatrics into the 21st century (see Milk ’n’ Honey).
The secret:
Geeks already know that 3LD is the only theater company in the country licensed to use Musion Eyeliner, a technology that allows video projections to appear as if they’re floating in space alongside actors onstage. This works with the use of a sheet of plastic, invisible with the proper lighting, against which high-definition video is projected. (Remember when Madonna cavorted with the cartoon members of the band Gorillaz onstage at the Grammys? That was thanks to Eyeliner.) Oh right, The secret:
3LD tells us that Björk paid a visit last week for a demonstration—she’s considering using it on her upcoming tour. 80 Greenwich St between Edgar and Rector Sts (212-388-7371)

Josh, it is true. X is not on the menu.
I am really upset that Time Out printed my secret website for everybody to see. gugunnameable is so secret, you can't even view it on a regular computer -- the secret password is

The concept of this piece, as described, is excellent; the execution is terrible and misleading (per the description, anyway–it would have been a fine article properly described). A tip would be, for example: "order X at Pearl Oyster Bar, it's not on the menu, it's excellent, and you have to request it." Or a reservation password or somesuch.

How is this an "ultra-valuable tip?" It's not even a "tip," it's a piece of trivia.
