CC says: “A good friend of mine custom-made this outfit for me. She’s an airbrush artist with the line BlairWear, and she uses everything as her canvas—if she had a dog, she would airbrush it. The writing on the shirt says BUSINESS IS MY MIDDLE NAME. It’s an inside joke we have, from the movie Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. She and I both own our own businesses, so we always joke about the line from the movie: ‘We’ll have the businesswoman special, please.’ I’ve had the outfit for three years now; it’s what I wear the most. I wear it everywhere: to walk my dog in the park, to the gym, around the house and I also wear it out. I feel like a warrior in it.”
“This is my black belt in shopping—even though it’s navy blue. But I don’t get bruises when I wear it like I did when I was really practicing kung fu. I got it at a flea market in France.”
“The shoes are Maud Frizon, the 1970s equivalent of Manolo Blahniks. They’re designed for ladies to look good, feel good and to be able to walk in. I still have nightmares about these Maud Frizon sandals that I wanted so badly but could not afford when I was younger. A good pair of shoes can change your life. I pretty much always get what I want when I wear these shoes.”

It's nice to see people having their own direction when it comes to style, but I cringe to hear people fawning over designer brand names like it's the only thing that matters. I wonder if that baby knows it's shoes cost more than my whole outfit?
