    Time Out New York / Issue 655 : Apr 16–22, 2008
    Eat Out Awards 2008

    Readers’ choice

    Best new bar
    Huckleberry Bar
Other nominees: B Flat, The Gutter, Smith & Mills
The name says it all: To be a huckleberry is to be the right one for the job, and Huckleberry Bar is just that. Owners Andrew Boggs and Stephanie Schneider have created an experience that will satisfy any boozer’s desire: choice beers, an ace wine selection, serious cocktails and respectable eats. Every detail, down to a DJ who adjusts the soundtrack to fit the crowd and hour, is tailored to give you what you want. They got it right—and you rewarded them.

definately a place that many locals go. outside seating can be nice if you can get one. tab is always reasonable. everything else like service and food is EH. i have left with my party before ordering because the host/waiter was just plain rude and obnoxious. frankly, they need to get over themselves... but i guess as long as ppl keep coming.

Apparently the readers of this magazine have no BBQ experience whatsoever if they think hill country is the best! I know there is a shortage of good BBQ in NYC, but even Dallas BBQ is better than this overpriced garbage chain! Daisy Mae's, RUB, hell, the mcRib is better than hill country! If you like paying 10 bucks for a mexican coke that tastes like every other coke in the world, and carrying a bunch of subpar smoked meats all over a buffet restaurant then by all means, enjoy!
