    Talking dirty

What gets New Yorkers hard and wet? TONY set up an “Are You Horny?” booth on St. Marks Place and quizzed locals on their kinkiest predilections.

    By Alexis Tirado

“What turns you on about living in New York?”

“Catcalling,” said Sylvia, the first person to approach our table. “There’s nothing sexier than a man across the street yelling, ‘Yo, baby!’ I don’t think it’s offensive or degrading at all.” The 21-year-old went on to divulge a recent tryst that resulted from one construction worker’s primal pickup tactic: “We got frisky in a clothing store on Canal Street!”

Larry, 32, had a different turn-on: “I love when men wear loose Champion sweatpants. When a guy is walking, you can see his dick move,” he said with a heavy sigh. Minutes later, Louis, 24, pulled down his sunglasses and expressed a similar sentiment: “Guys wearing basketball shorts make me weak in the knees. You can always see their bits and pieces!”

A few hours later, the Horny booth lured in 19-year-olds Destiny and Alana. Other than Gossip Girl, what turns the kids on these days? “I dig mustaches,” said Destiny. Alana, a lanky blond, wasn’t into the ’stache so much: “I’m a lesbian and like girls who look like they’ve been burnt.” “Burnt-out? Like Courtney Love?” I asked. “No!” she laughed. “I don’t like white girls with blond hair—I like darker girls.”

The answer that turned me on the most, though, came from a mysterious and muscular gentleman: “I’ll tell you what turns me on, mama,” he said. “That gold lamé dress of yours.” Then he winked and disappeared into the crowd.
