    Time Out New York / Issue 659 : May 14–20, 2008

Sex and the City strikes back

As the movie nears, the love-hate saga drags on.

With the release of Sex and the City: The Movie and the set-invading coverage of its filming, New Yorkers have been confronted with a four-year-old, sequined skeleton in their closet (and it's clutching a Marc Jacobs tote, natch). Whether you've been snapping photos of the filming locations and sending them to the gossip blogs or you curse the Carrie-fication of this city and pine for the schlumpy days of Seinfeld, we can all agree SATC transformed the image of New York City inside and out. If you're anything like us, you hate it. And you love it. Here's why.

    Our crazy cover

    I love the show

Sloppy seconds: Are you still going to the tired hangouts mentioned in Sex and the City way back when? We'll help you update your obsession.
Poll: But who is the fairest of them all?: In its six seasons, Sex and the City presented its share of Prince Charming candidates. Which ones would you want waking you from a deep slumber? (We get dibs on Maria.)
Julia Allison on SATC's appeal: Our neo-Carrie presents her love letter to the show.

    I hate the show

How to avoid the Sex and the City movie madness: A spot in the fabulous foursome's new movie may be a boon to NYC retailers and restaurateurs. That doesn't mean you need to be caught in the crush.
How Sex ruined New York City: The TONY list of what you can officially blame on SATC.
Where to find real New York sex: If you can't stomach the oh-so-stylized canoodling on the show, try a grittier look at NYC coupling at the city's public sex hotspots.

Where did all of the other comments go? Were they deleted? Users should be able to scroll through all comments, both positive and negative, even if they seem repetitive to you. Otherwise, why bother posting a comment at all?

Sooo, Did you guys get the TIME OUT NEW YORK cover mixed up with the TIME OUT LITTLE ROCK cover? You guys bash Sex and the CIty and praise eating pig snout and free beer... Yea, as a New Yorker I think Im gonna have to go watch the movie and probably not search for a pig to eat. PS) I think SATC has brought ALOT of tourists to NYC and pig feet not so much.
