The item 12 feet of PVC pipe
The process “We washed the pipe thoroughly, and then cut it into sections using a PVC handsaw. We drilled holes in the sides and bolted them together with 5/8" bolts, split washers and wing nuts. We cut nine lengths of lamp cord, stripped both ends, wired a candelabra socket to one end and pigtailed the other ends through the tubes to three short cords, and ultimately to one length. The main piece goes out a drilled hole in the center pipe to the wall. We secured the sockets in place with plastic epoxy, then inserted 25-watt frosted round bulbs. You can use it as a table or floor lamp.”
The materials PVC saw ($12), lamp cord (4¢ per foot), nine sockets ($2.50 each), nine bulbs ($12), bolts, wing nuts and washers ($5 for 12 of each), plastic epoxy ($6), dimmer ($12), all from Home Depot (homedepot.com).
