Q Where can I grab a drink and bowl a few frames?—George Beasely, Washington Heights
A Lucky for you, Big Lebowski lover, you can hone your seven-ten technique while hitting the hooch at sprawling, space-age Bowlmor Lanes (110 University Pl between 12th and 13th Sts, 212-255-8188). Mosey by Mondays from 10pm to 2am and drop $22 for unlimited glow-in-the-dark bowling (shoes included), spiced up by spinning DJs and top-shelf drinks, such as a potent watermelon martini ($10.75). If pothead lighting and throbbing beats are overwhelming, try retro-styled The Gutter (200 North 14th St between Berry St and Wythe Ave, Greenpoint, Brooklyn; 718-387-3585). Roll a few on one of the former sweatshop’s eight lanes ($6 a game before 8pm, $7 afterward; shoes $2), then hit the bar outfitted with stained-glass lamps, ancient beer signage and modern microbrews like thirst-quenching Captain Lawrence Pale Ale ($6). For unironic, old-school bowling, march to Melody Lanes (461 37th St between Fourth and Fifth Aves, Sunset Park, Brooklyn; 718-832-2695) for raucous Friday and Saturday night affairs. As a disco ball spins and R&B blares, enjoy unlimited bowling (midnight–3am; $20 a person including shoes) while swilling numerous $9 pitchers of Budweiser—the ideal medicine to cure your gutter-ball blues.
