"Barings in America: An Interactive Investment Experience"

Museum of American Finance , Financial District Friday March 8 2013 10:00 - 16:00
The museum marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of Barings Bank, a U.K. institution with a storied past (it eventually went bankrupt when an employee lost $1.3 billion in bad investments in 1995). Featuring documents and other items from the Barings archive, the exhibit traces the bank's contributions to historic developments such as the Louisiana Purchase and the construction of the U.S. railroad system.
