Rosemary's Greenpoint Tavern

Floyd, NY
The early drinker catches the comfortable sofas and the bocce court here—the place is known to fill up by 10am during soccer season. Get your hair of the dog in the form of a "crap-a-copia," a $15 beer bucket stuffed with six domestic cans. Sitting in one of the inviting nooks, you'll be tempted to keep the crap coming—for better or worse, the same dirt-cheap deal runs all day and night. 131 Atlantic Ave between Clinton and Henry Sts, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn (718-858-5810, floydny.com)

Rosemary's Greenpoint Tavern
A truly divey holdout in a 'hood full of carefully engineered saloons, Rosemary's satisfies heavy drinkers with its rough-and-tumble signature drink: a 32-ounce Styrofoam cup sloshing with beer. Fill it with Bud or Bud Light for $4, or put on your fancy pants and order Beck's for $6. 188 Bedford Ave between North 6th and 7th Sts, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (718-384-9539)

Gotham City Lounge
Attracting comics fans and scantily paid bloggers, this friendly, inexpensive hang feels more like a fanboy's basement than a dive, but with $1 cans of PBR on Tuesdays and $3 PBR-and-well-whiskey combos all day, every day, even Batman would be tempted to swoop in for a cold one. 1293 Myrtle Ave between Central Ave and Hart St, Bushwick, Brooklyn (718-387-4182)

Third and Long
Attracting the jersey-clad Murray Hill set, this no-frills Irish-owned sports pub has 18 beers on tap, and will keep you raising a glass to your athletic heroes with $2 domestic drafts on Mondays (5pm--4am) and Saturdays (all day), $3 craft pints on Tuesdays (5pm--4am) and $4 PBRs all the time. 523 Third Ave at 35th St (212-447-5711, thirdandlongnyc.com)

The Stumble Inn
Even with two walls of windows looking out onto Second Avenue, after-work tie-looseners craving big burgers are more apt to be glued to the 21 flatscreens at this UES sports bar. On Mondays from 7pm until 4am, drafts are a dollar, and everything is half price from Monday to Saturday between 11:30am and 7pm. 1454 Second Ave at 76th St (212-650-0561, nycbestbar.com/stumble)

Bourbon Street
With enough bras hung behind the bar to rival a small Victoria's Secret, bead-bedazzled Bourbon Street aims to be a year-round Mardi Gras party. It certainly achieves that rowdiness on Wednesdays and Thursdays, when prepsters attempt to "beat the clock": Beginning at 9pm, Bud Light drafts (plus Coors on Wednesdays) are a mere $1 each; the price rises to $2 from 11pm till close, except for the "power hour" between 1 and 2am, when it drops back to $1. On your marks, get set, chug! 407 Amsterdam Ave between 79th and 80th Sts (212-721-1332, bourbonstreetnyc.com)

Jackie's Fifth Amendment
Park Slope overrunneth with craft beer, but this dark, narrow dive balances the landscape with blue-collar booze. Follow the lead of locals who cluster around $10 beer buckets, each filled with six ponies (seven-ounce bottles) of Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light or Miller High Life. Once you've survived that adventure, hobble over to the iTunes jukebox to select your victory anthem. 404 Fifth Ave at 7th St, Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-788-9123)
