The Pony Bar
American microbrews are the stars at this Hell's Kitchen watering hole: The bar features 20 beers on tap and two cask ales, artfully listed on signboards according to provenance and potency. Though it can get crowded fast, if you manage to snag a table, it's a great spot to while away the evening with a group of friends. 637 Tenth Ave at 45th St (212-586-2707, theponybar.com). Mon--Fri 3pm--4am; Sat, Sun noon--4am.

Pacha
The NYC outpost of the worldwide club chain rarely holds back on the partying—it's for fist-pumping revelry, not for demure and civilized after-dark fun. The spot attracts heavyweights ranging from local hero Danny Tenaglia to big-time visiting jocks (such as electronic It boy Skrillex—Feb 1 at 9pm; $50), but as with most big clubs, it pays to check the lineup in advance if you're into underground beats. 618 W 46th St between Eleventh and Twelfth Aves (212-209-7500, pachanyc.com). Showtimes vary.

Lucky Strike
You won't find any Dude-alikes at this classy bowling alley: There's a dress code forbidding athletic wear and solid colored T-shirts (and, presumably, ratty robes and boxer shorts). If you fit the criteria, however, there are 26 lanes and ten pool tables to enjoy, with bottle service for those who, shall we say, roll like that. 624 W 42nd St at Twelfth Ave (646-829-0170, bowlluckystrike.com). Mon--Thu, Sun noon--2am; Fri, Sat noon--4am.
