Sing rock, jazz and everything in between in the front room at this Theater District institution, which is open for any aspiring chanteuse or chanteur from 9pm till close. When everyone chimes in on standards and entire musical scores, this place feels straight out of Sally Bowles's Weimar Berlin. Every piano player is great; we especially admire the legendary Dexter Watson, who has been at Marie's since the beginning of time and has the wide-ranging knowledge to prove it. 59 Grove St at Seventh Ave (no phone). Any night of the week, you can find singers of varying quality gathered around the grand piano upstairs.
