Beach party Midtown may not summon images of sultry nightspots, but Nikki Midtown hopes to change that. The lounge, which the owners bill as “the sexiest party on Earth,” brings a South Beach theme to the East 50s with the help of white canopied beds, tiki torches and go-go girls. The bilevel space won’t have the palm trees and sand that made the original Nikki in Miami so popular, but it will likely woo the same upscale crowd of investment bankers starving for a midtown model-watching spot. In addition to the booze and girls, there’s a family-platter menu and tapas such as basil-crusted tuna loin and baked country Brie wrapped in puff pastry and topped with brown sugar and pine nuts. Big shots can splurge on the $150 Sunday brunch, which features caviar, champagne, sushi and Florida lobster tails.
