  • I will be honest with you, I am not a big folk music enthusiast. But a friend I recently met told me just come to The Living Room with me and I bet you'll have a great time. Once she mentioned the price of the drink specials, I was in. We stayed in the front to talk and have drinks and I was really digging the music being played in the background. When we went back to check out the live music, I was very intrigued by the set up, and respect that the fans had for the musicians. It was a fun time and I plan on coming back soon.

  • Good music, good atmosphere, good vibes, good staff, good prices on drinks. I am giving so many goods because this place is just really good. Found this place when I came to see Meiko play in NYC last year , and am in love with it ever since. The living room is the place that I would bring friends over on a regular basis for drinks and music, it is like my own living room.

  • What a cool place! The front room is the bar area, which, the drinks are cheap and the bartenders are super chilled. The back room is for live music, there are usually several sets every night. There is no cover, which makes it even better. Had a good night last Thursday after work, enjoyed the three sets I saw very much.

  • I love the atmosphere of this place! The candles and close quarters make it so intimate and the staff is always on top of things. I came last week to see Margaret Glaspy, but I was impressed with all of the musicians I got to see before her. I’ll definitely be coming back!

  • Double the music in one place!! I had such a blast here. I was here to see a friend of a friend play (Wild Leaves, who were fantastic and everyone should go see!) in Googie's and saw that they have another larger room downstairs. It was great to check out both spaces because they both had a different vibe, but both sounded really good. The lounge upstairs was really up-close and homey, like you were in someone's actual living room. The room downstairs was larger and held a larger crowd but was similarly intimate. What's better is that there was no cover, so you can just go from one room to another and check out live music continuously all night instead of waiting for the change over and set ups. It's a really great place.

  • Each time I come here I love it more. There’s live music downstairs in The Living Room AND upstairs at Googie’s… so lots of different choices depending on what you like. The atmosphere is great, and me and all my friends enjoyed a bunch of rounds of cheap drinks! I’ll definitely be bringing more friends out to relax after work here.

  • It is a place where you can go alone, or take your girlfriend for a nice time. There is something to for everybody. I have spent so much money on the weekends in New York, here a lot of shows are free and there are always specials on drinks.

  • You gotta love this place. It totally lives up to it's name. From the decor to the live music I love how this place is so laid back and unpretentious. Not to mention the bartenders are super friendly and the drink specials are great. Out of all the spots I've been too on the Lower East Side, the Living Room is by far the best one.

  • The Living Room has a fun mix of local acts and regulars, like Jim Campilongo and Tony Scherr, and touring acts from all over the country. Googie's Lounge, the smaller room upstairs, features less well known acts but is an equally good time. Being a musician myself, I've enjoyed seeing the spectrum in these two rooms and appreciate the sound engineer's attention to detail. Definitely worth checking out, any night of the week.
