7 New York places we wish you could rent on AirBnB

Heading to L.A. on June 3rd and need a place to stay? Do heights, cramped spaces, and possible fire hazards near antique wood not scare you? Well, you're in luck! AirBnB's newest listing in Burbank is the "historic" (they date back to 1927) rafters above the Warner Bros studio where Conan O'Brien tapes his late night talk show.

The internet rental site is holding a contest where interested parties can submit their best, convincing arguments for why they deserve to sleep on wooden rafters more than anyone else. The "lucky" winner, and another guest or his or her choosing, gets to spend the night in this probably creaky, quite possibly haunted, studio. These accommodations come with no television, but you do get to see the Conan Show live and even field questions from the comedian.

The rafters join a long running list of bizarre lodgings available on AirBnB, which also include tree houses, igloos, and "Steve's backyard." Unfortunately, most of the offerings in the New York area are pretty tame. Since we don't want our city to loose its spot as one of the country's premier tourist destination, we think NYC should up it's game by offering these places for a night or two:

1. A broom closet in the Natural History Museum. It'll be just like Night at the Museum, except while all the exhibits come to life you're locked out of sight with nothing but a bucket and a concrete floor.

2. The twin bell towers at St. Jean Baptiste Church. From 150 feet high in the air you and your date could yell your intimate conversation at each other from separate towers. The bells provide a complimentary wake-up service every Sunday morning!

3. The Rockefeller Ice Rink's locker room. Great for giant slumber parties and people who love the smell of feet.

4. An office at the Port Authority. Conveniently located in Times Square!

5. A spot in the Cronut line. Guaranteed a pastry.

6. A Staten Island Ferry engine room. Even in the winter, these accommodations are quite toasty.

7. The kitchen at Papaya Dog. All the hot dogs you could eat, not to mention the one dollar pizza.
