American Ballet Theatre's new YouTube channel makes it so dancers, including James Whiteside, Isabella Boylston, Alexandre Hammoudi, Devon Teuscher and Skylar Brandt, are now closer than ever. So far, the channel focuses on individual dancers or thematic material—the state of competition in ballet, pre-performance rituals and the notion of perseverance—but more videos are on the way. Here's a sample:

Whiteside says, "The competition is so insane to get here that i feel like I can relax a little bit" and "don't need to be clawing my way up a ladder."

Teuscher—a newly appointed soloist, hooray!—notes, "Some of the worst days are when you're working so hard until 7pm, and you want to cry because your body hurts so bad…just walking home is so painful, but you know that those are some of the best days, that you've worked really hard, that you're growing and that you're getting better."
