Pardon the inter"ruff"tion but we have a paw-some announcement—Today is National Puppy Day! The dogtastic holiday was created by animal advocate Colleen Paige (who also founded National Dog Day and National Cat Day!) to raise awareness about the dangers of puppy mills, and we are paw-sitive it is the cutest day of the year.  Here's how to show love for the most lovable fuzz balls in the world today (sorry cats). Don't have a pup of your own? You can still represent for the cause.

Tag your best friend with the hashtag ‪#‎nationalpuppyday to be featured on the official National Puppy Day Twitter page.

Immortalize the pupalicious cuteness of your dog with a Warhol-esque t-shirt from Pop Your Pup

Adopt a puppy! Skip the fancy post doggy shop, support no-kill animal rescue spot in NYC like Mighty Mutts and take home a pup in need today! You've been considering it for like ever, and what better day to bring in a fluffy new addition to your life that National Puppy Day?

Take your canine out tonight. Treat your pooch to a night on the town at one of New York City's a dog-friendly bars like Barking Dog Luncheonette, where your little guy gets courtesy doggy treats just for being delightful.

Get educated about puppy mills, establishments that breed puppies for sale in often times inhumane living circumstances. The official National Puppy Day site dedicates a whole page about the horrors of these sorts of breeders. Share the site and info on social media and spread the word.

And, of course, use this as an excuse to look at puppy videos all day. We're just going to drop these adorable puppy things here to get you started...
