By now, you should be prepping your stomach for Thanksgiving dinner and your wallet for all of the incredible Black Friday sales. But the deals don’t stop there! Show the mom-and-pop joints in your neighborhood some love during Small Business Saturday (Nov 28) and they’ll return the favor in the form of freebies and discounts.

Chelsea

At STORY, owner Rachel Shechtman believes small businesses are a big deal (we do too). That’s why she teamed up with American Express for her latest concept, Home for the Holidays, to host an all-day #ShopSmall bash from 9am to 9pm. Head to the Chelsea store to nab some effing awesome merch for your crew, like Rose and Rose hats with interchangeable fox pom-poms, and enjoy free grub from Wafels and Dinges and Milk Truck grilled cheese. Check out STORY’S website (thisisstory.com/events) for the lineup, which includes a Trunk-Show-and-tell with brands like Woodstock General Supply, Cor Pottery, Hella Bitters cocktail and a wine tasting from Appellation Wine Spirits and Corvain.

Crown Heights

Be on the prowl for chic wares from Lady J (679 Classon Ave, Brooklyn), where fall duds are marked 20 percent off. Wander down to old-timey boutique Owl & Thistle, for 10 percent off local giftables like the Brooklyn Brunch box, containing McClure’s Bloody Mary Mix, Jam Stand preserves and more (originally $45). And head south to grab 10 percent off unique household goods and antiques from Reclaimed Home (945-947 Carroll St, Brooklyn). There will be a communal DIY crafting table set up, so you can take a stab at making a handmade gift—no charge—for someone special (or someone you really hate, if you lack the creative gene).

Williamsburg and Greenpoint

Not only will you score complimentary adult beverages from vintage treasure trove Antoinette while you spend, but you’ll receive 10 percent off must-have threads like Carleen cropped turtlenecks ($134, usually $149) and a throwback leather patchwork skirt ($54, instead of $60). Make sure to check out Milly & Earl, Fanaberie, SlapBack and Beaner Bar for similar discounts and giveaways. Be on the prowl in Greenpoint, too, because everything at Line & Label, including quartz necklaces ($52, usually $66) as well as calf-hair and leather saddle bags ($132, once $165), is 20 percent off through Sunday 29.

Astoria

Ready for a retail crawl? (Don’t worry—unlike a bar tour, it doesn’t come with a hangover). Shop owner Nicole Panettieriof The Brass Owl organized a special Small Business event during which shoppers can head to the chic boutique and browse 15 percent off fall footwear (hello, Dolce Vita suede booties for $140!), sip free mimosas and nab a punch card that lists 11 kick-ass retail spots in the nabe. Hit up six or more stores offering rad bargains, like Lockwood Style (33-02 Broadway, Queens) and HiFi Records (23-19 Steinway St, Queens), and you’ll be entered to win goodies such as vinyl, tasty treats and fashionable flair from each joint.
