Last night, New Yorkers were reminded of what was lost 13 years ago during the 9/11 Tribute in Light. From dusk till dawn, two beams of light shined bright, representing the Twin Towers’ descent toward the heavens. They serve as a stunning yet somber reminder of the fallen and the loved ones, whose lives were tragically taken.

Anyone within view of the Manhattan skyline witnessed the beams and many commemorated the event on Instagram. Undoubtedly, anyone alive during the 9/11 attacks has a personal connection or memory from that day. It’s quite symbolic that the photos we found were all taken from different angles, because much like our own stories from 9/11, each experience and memory comes from a different point of view. But, as New Yorkers, Americans and the country as a whole, we all share one common ground; we will always remember and we will never forget.
