New York becomes a city in the clouds in this amazing video

New York may be the city that never sleeps, but in this dreamy aerial footage titled Sleeping Giants, it looks like it hasn't woken up yet. Instead, the city is happily in the midst of a big snooze, snuggled under a thick blanket of puffy clouds in the beams of early morning light. Or maybe that's you, deep in meditation, hanging out on a cloud, looking at the city below. No honking, no sirens, no people.  Whatever is going on, you owe it to yourself to take six minutes to watch New York get swallowed by clouds, with the One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building spires just peeking out, and Central Park's lake bathed in an early morning glow.

A little backstory for you: In September 2015, the Discover Footage team—known for taking aerial and time-lapse videos—captured this footage during an early-morning helicopter flight from New Jersey, "while a rare weather pattern grounded most in Manhattan." The result is this stunning footage without any other air traffic in the sky. Enjoy.
