OMG Law & Order might come back!

If you’ve ever dreamed that one day Law and Order would reappear on television, and not like it does all day everyday in the form of reruns (we definitely don’t watch those every weekend…who would do that?), this may be your lucky day.

When we asked Sam Waterston about ADA Jack McCoy in a recent interview, he told us:

“It’s been a long-standing ambition of Dick Wolf’s to revive Law and Order and be the longest running hour-long drama in the history of TV, and I’m with him. I’d say there is more than a 50/50 chance that it is now going to happen.”

That’s right, ladies and gentleman of the jury: more than a 50 percent chance! Cue the theme music… Chung-chung.

Waterston is set to star as Prospero in Shakespeare in the Park’s production of The Tempest this summer, and his new comedy, Grace and Frankie, is currently out on Netflix. But there’s one place we all not-so-secretly want to see him go: back to Law and Order, obviously. Miraculously, he agrees!

“I’d love to see that happen,” Waterston says. “I’d be thrilled. I hope he pulls it off. If anybody can, it’ll be him. He’s a determined man. I’d be in.”
