Speakeasy hot dog parlor opens tonight

Swanky Hot Dog

Hot dogs get the speakeasy treatment at Swanky Dog, a clandestine frank parlor popping up behind Chelsea pizza spot Prova starting tonight. Accessed from 5pm to late Tuesdays through Saturdays via an unmarked entrance on 19th Street, the parlor will offer specialty hot dogs and sausages created exclusively by Rastelli Meats and served on King's Hawaiian buns.

Along with savory varieties including the Fiesta Dog (hot beef frank with jalapeño, chipotle and roasted bell peppers) and the Secret Dog (chicken–white-wine sausage with mushrooms, Swiss and curry–black-sesame sauce), there's even a dessert Cannoli Dog to round out the menu (see below). Cocktails will also be available. including a Ruby Julep with bourbon, pamplemousse rosé, grapefruit, mint and hibiscus green tea.
