As much as we love free coffee and complimentary bar bites, we’re just as happy forking over cash for all-you-can-eat spreads. Tonight, the Meat Hook is obliging with a feast of endless steak and beer.

For their first-ever Beefsteak—a 1920s-inspired meat-and-alcohol–gorging event—at Humbolt & Jackson, the butchers are bringing a 75-pound beef leg, along with multiple rounds, that have been salt-cured and slow-roasted for 20 hours. At 7:30pm, they’ll be carving right off the bone and piling meat onto your plate all night until it’s gone. And don’t worry about slopping au jus everywhere: In the tradition of a classic banquet, a sprinkling of sawdust on the floor will sop up the mess. Plus, owner Bill Reed is looking forward to watching white tablecloths get greasy. “There’s homemade corn bread, too, but that’s more of a trophy than anything,” he says. “Because every time you get meat, you get a roll.”

Did we mention there’s tons of beer? Fill up your glass from endless pitchers of Port Jeff Brewing IPA and a specially brewed beer that will be revealed once it's tapped with a hammer from a wooden cask. If you need a break from meat, munch on crackers and giant wheels of McAdams cheddar cheese and slices of decadent bourbon-chocolate-pecan pie. Or take a breather and watch the bluegrass band pick their banjos and play the accordion, then enter your complimentary raffle ticket for a chance to win two passes to any upcoming Humboldt & Jackson dinner event—from private brunches to Brooklyn Brewery farm-to-table meals.

Tickets to the button-popping dinner $95 and they’re going fast. Snag one ASAP—there are about 10 seats left.
