It's finally time to take that trip you've been planning, because budget carrier Allegiant Air is making its way to NYC. The airline will fly out of Newark with flights as low as $39.

The brand calls itself an "ultra-low cost carrier" and will fly nonstop to Cincinnati, Ohio and Savannah, Ga. ($39 one-way) starting Nov. 16, reports USAToday, with flights heading to Asheville, N.C. and Knoxville, Tenn. beginning the next day ($41 one-way). The airline also charges $8 for any credit card purchases, though debit card purchases are free of charge. The airline is the first to be newly added to Newark's lineup since it loosened its longtime capacity restrictions recently. Other low-cost carriers in NYC include Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines, both flying out of LaGuardia

Low costs may sound appealing, but be prepared to pay for items like assigned seats, carryon bags, checked bags, etc. Nothing in this life is free!
