The satisfying and hilarious second hardbound collection from Kupperman’s stunningly silly and surprising series brings out the hits (“Snake ’n’ Bacon,” “Twain and Einstein”), along with new brainstorms (an alien called Fart Boobs).
Point Your Face at This by Demetri Martin (Grand Central, $13)
Stand-up Martin’s deadpan wit moves from his onstage sketch pad into a book, focusing on one specific phenomenon at a time and tilting each one slightly askew. Every page is a quick hit, but they’re reliably thoughtful and amusing.
Hand-Drying in America and Other Stories by Ben Katchor (Pantheon, $30)
These short stories from the Julius Knipl, Real Estate Photographer artist reveal and then reconfigure the city-dweller obsessions, making everyday life feel foreign; though smart and perceptive, the strips can feel monotonous.
