Novelist and science-minded journalist Nathaniel Rich uses both the left and right sides of his brain in his new book, Odds Against Tomorrow. Its protagonist is a man who sells doomsday scenarios to corporations in order to indemnify them against disaster; circumstances change when Manhattan descends into a very real chaos.
