Shani Boianjiu

One of the National Book Foundation's "5 Under 35," Boianjiu used her experience in the Israel Defense Forces as inspiration for last year's novel The People of Forever Are Not Afraid. It tells the story of a trio of girls conscripted for the IDF, waiting for violence to erupt.
