Bruce Brubaker & Ursula Oppens

As part of Meredith Monk's birthday celebrations (which include a Carnegie Hall residency), these two thoughtful and expressive pianists join together to play a set of her piano music (arranged by Brubaker, in some cases). Piano Songs, their recording of this repertoire for the ECM label, is a highlight among classical recordings this year—but just to keep things interesting, they'll be premiering a couple of new transcriptions, too.
