International Contemporary Ensemble: ICElab

With its ICElab concerts, this elite new-music ensemble fulfills one of its core missions: bringing to life new and recent works by a diverse range of composers. With these specific performances at Brooklyn's Jack space, they realize another objective: making new-music concerts accessible, in terms of cost. (Can't beat free!) The Oct 5 program brings Juan Camilo Hernández's Songs Beyond the Margin (which uses both jazz-band instrumentation and a classical tenor). On Oct 6, Alvin Lucier's Opera with Objects shares a program with the world premiere of Rick Burkhardt's Warka Vase.
