Distinguished conductor Christoph von Dohnányi returns to the Avery Fisher Hall podium for an all-Beethoven affair, leading the Phil in the overture to The Creatures of Prometheus, Piano Concerto No. 1 (with poetic soloist Radu Lupu) and Symphony No. 5. A matinee offering on Sat 2 includes the overture and symphony, along with Brahms's String Sextet No. 2.
